Sighting the moon: Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to meet today


KARACHI: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal committee crystal rectifier by Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman can meet these days to sight the Shawwal moon.

So far, the moon has not been keen-sighted within the Gulf countries. Eid can fall on Wed for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and also the alternative Gulf states.

The moon for the month of Shawwal signifies the top of the holy month of Ramazan, marking the beginning of Eid-ul-Fitr. Eid day could be a celebration of the top of Ramazan, once Muslims will eat and drink throughout the conventional times and not fast from dawn until sunset.

Pakistanis celebrate Eid with spiritual zeal and zest every year.
